So I was lucky enough to be at Perisher last week with the beautiful 30cm fall on Wednesday. Then about midmorning Thursday I started to feel achy all over and shivery. The tiredness got so bad I didn't feel able to pull up in the beautifull powder and I had to fall over a lot (I never fall). I couldn't go much past 3pm and I couldn't (sob) ski at all on Friday. Been in quarantine ever since.

Not happy :(

Oh that is no good Belski :( I know how it feels to miss such an opportunity.. I was out there amoungst it on the Thursday enjoying the powder between the trees.. traversing back to Interceptor I fairly put the brakes on (unwillingly!) and cartwheeled and hurt my ankle.. done and dusted for at least a good week. I hope you are feeling better.. I know how it feels to miss out on a good thing.. maybe you'll feel better after the next good powder dump that frog can see coming (fingers crossed!). Get better smile.gif

I had that last week. Doc said don't worry it's so common they don't even test for it anymore and to take a couple of days off work.

So many people on trains and busses do not have coughing etiquette. I hate it when people cough and spray all over everything and don't even cover their mouth with a tissue or their hand!

Reminds me how this year I had a massive toothache on my 21st birthday that required me to be on painkillers.. Why of all days it could have been on, it was on my 21st? :tantrum:

I hope you feel better and get another chance, seem to be everyone under the flu lately including myself with bad coughs and sore chests everytime I cough. :(

Yeah Frog, the doctor didn't do any tests. Just prescribed Tamiflu and 3 days quarantine. My +1 and I run our own business and I had just had the week off skiing. You can imagine he is over the moon. AT work today though and getting a little better every day.

I wasn't planning a another trip, but I am now. graemlins/skier.gif

try this, mother in law has just now had last rights in a palliative care hospital and is unlikely to see the afternoon out. have just had to give away a 2 bedroom villa for this weekend at thredbo to a mate and his family, because the funeral is likely to be friday that we booked 3 months ago. nothing ever goes according to plan.

Oh southern, I am so sorry for you and your wife. I hope she had a good life and there was nothing left unsaid.

I feel a bit like a whinger right now.

Sth O so sorry to hear the news about your mother in law. Very sad. My father is now under palliative care (very hard and heart wrenching). Thoughts with you and your partner. :(

She is on the mend now.. a few lazy days kicking back with princess, the last Harry Potter book and a tube of arnica is just what the doctor ordered

I can relate Belski. 2 last minute teenage additions to my trip this year turned up suffering the flue having just had a week off school. Didn't find out until we were at Jindy so it was too late to say No.

By the end of the week both me & JB had caught it from them. She was suffering much the same as you by Friday and only drugs and adrenalin kept her going to the end of the day.

She has been to the doctor 3 times since we returned less than 2 weeks ago. Each time going onto stronger anti biotics. It has now progressed to a fairly bad sinus infection thats causing pain behind her forehead, eyes & uppper jaw.

Everything was going well, and then the day I was off to Tokyo, I got an abscess in my tooth & half of my face swelled up like a balloon.
Now why couldn't it wait for 3 days & hit me back in Australia?
I had run out of nurofen +, and the over the counter pain killers I bought in Tokyo just couldn't cut it.

thanks guys, things are pretty messed up at the moment, the ski holiday is the least important issue. but still disappointing.
