Oh I remember reading about this late last year to. Never thought they'd actually get one running. Does this mean that Packer owns perisher+falls+hotham?
They should have one company own all oz ski resorts and have a one pass option!!

So it is such a well kept secret that you have to log in to find this out.
They are not going to be happy that this information has been revealed publicly then.
It would sell so many more season passes if this was made public, so why all the secrecy.
BrumbyJack
08-03-2009, 07:18 PM
No, you don't need to log in, you just need to get to it from the page before the link that was posted.
I definitely think they need some fine tuning on their website though.
Altheau
08-03-2009, 07:52 PM
I think they have possibly not finished testing the store portion of the website and that is why the page is not avalible? I could not find any info about the perisher card on the main site either (but they are listed in the store), maybe they are not publishing the page till closer to the date that the season passes will be avalible? Whenever late march is
not sure, bit weird ;p

Why don't Thredbo ever do anything like that? (I know about Thredbo card, I mean early bird etc)

Page is public, just google it, that's how I got to it. And no, you don't have to log in to see any of the prices etc, only to buy the pass.
The page I posted was when I asked for a password reminder.
When I was looking after a website, I would have been slaughtered by the business owners if something like Blah blah was left public! Pretty sloppy to leave the url public with that sort of editing still to happen

i'll be pretty bloody mad if Hotham don't include Perisher - can't see why they wouldn't.
I think they'll get some irate Pass holders knocking on their door if they say no.
^Interesting comment.
Presumably those buying Hotham/Falls season passes before PB's thought they were of reasonable value. That hasn't changed with the PB season pass - it may just be there's another product out there with better coverage. Note that the season passes aren't the same price.
Perhaps PB struck a deal that involves a transfer payment to Hotham/Falls for each season pass, in return for access to their lifts??
I can see it as a strategic play on PB's behalf to win market share away from Thredbo.

Well from my perspective SA has a good point.
Usually a Thredbo skier, but if snow quality is lacking usually head for PB. As a result never been inclined to buy a season pass at either as won't spend enough time skiing either.
With a season pass that has Hotham/Falls included it suddenly becomes very tempting. I still won't get it as I will want to spend big snow days at Thredbo and will have a few backcountry days as well and don't do enough days overall in a season to get my money back when spreading myself across a few different destinations, but at least it got me thinking about it and the possibility of road trips to Victoria during the winter.

Already thought about that Pods :D
I was planning on heading up to Jindy for a week this year but wasn't planning on buying a season pass as I don't think I'll be doing much more riding than that week this year.
Now I'm going to NZ instead but I'm still tempted to do another week in Jindy and tempted to buy this pass.
bdenny4

Purely from my perspective:
I bought a Hotham Early Bird Season Pass which cost me $990.00 - yes, good value.
Am going to go to Perisher for a week which will cost me approx $500 for the week lift ticket.
If I get the Season Pass that covers both then I save approx $300 - $400
When I bought the Hotham Season Pass there was no option to buy the Perisher/Hotham/Falls Pass or I would have done so knowing that I was going to do the above.
I hope that either they let me upgrade for an extra $100 or cancel and get the Perisher Season Pass that includes Hotham/Falls. If not then I believe it is unfair.

No, not unless you buy 'insurance'.
When they take your money from you there is no refund or transfer allowed.
The money has been debited to my card already but I have not received my pass as yet.
Terms of Season Pass:
The Pass Insurance option provides you with the reassurance of a partial refund as outlined below.
1. Without purchasing the pass insurance, season passes are NOT refundable or creditable under any circumstances.
2. The Pass Insurance is only available when purchased with your season pass, and is valid for season 2009 only.
3. Where the Pass Insurance is taken Mount Hotham Skiing Company (MHSC) and Falls Creek Ski Lifts (FCSL) will refund a percentage of the cost
of your season pass if you suffer injury/sickness which prevents you from further participating in skiing or snowboarding.
4. Mount Hotham Skiing Company/Falls Creek Ski Lifts will refund the cost of your season pass if you are transferred interstate by your employer;
provided that the date of transfer is at least 30 days after the purchase of your season pass (Victorian residents only).
5. The Pass Insurance fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
6. The Pass Insurance does not cover pre existing injuries or conditions.
7. To request a refund, you must supply MHSC or FCSL with a written request within 10 days of injury, including a covering letter of explanation, your
2009 season pass and medical certificate stating the cause & date of injury and prognosis. Refunds will be calculated from the day we receive your
request.
8. Pass Insurance claims will not be accepted after 10th August 2009.
9. All refunds are subject to Management’s approval and discretion.
10. MHSC and/or FCSL’s interpretation of the above conditions is final.

From the dark side
The Perisher Shop website seems to have disappeared, I haven't been able to get it to load up for almost 24hrs now.
I just spoke to someone @ Perisher snow holidays, and they said it won't be up for another 2 weeks, and when I asked about the Hotham/Falls Creek access they said no that's not happening.
(Well techincally speaking, I asked, and she had to ask someone and call me back. And of course, I was not at my desk when she rang back and so I have a voicemail saying the above.)
So that would probably explain why the website was yanked from the www
proof that the resorts do read the forums ;)

I know of at least a dozen local people who are not planning on buying a seasons pass as they ski both Thredbo and Hotham resorts, but have said they would buy a seasons pass and ski Perisher instead of Thredbo if all 3 resorts were on the one pass, and that is just from me talking about it in the shop, imagine if it was advertised.

* Nothing is on the P website about that now
* Canot confirm or deny what was on the website
* If there was something to this effect it was a mistake
* P did not sell any of these tickets
* Hotham/Falls Season Pass holders who have paid for 2009 SP tickets will be notified if anything develops

BJ - it might have been developed when they thought they were buying hotham/falls so had stuff prepared in case it went through at the last minute, still would be nice if it were true, I haven't bought a season pass ever (got them through work for free) but I would definitely consider and most likely buy a PB pass if it included hotham and falls.
VB do cheap flights to albury and that pauls ski bus idea is cheap, or hire a car. too easy!

My thoughts are they should offer an upgrade to those who have bought a seasons pass already.
Have the normal seasons passes for Perisher and also the Falls Hotham ones, but for maybe an extra $100 you can have all 3, it would certainly increase market share and bring normal Perisher skiers to Hotham and Falls and the regulars at Falls Hotham would be sure to visit Perisher, probably more importantly to them is people thinking of buying season passes for Buller or Thredbo may get a 3 mountain pass instead.
