What a waste. So sad.
Some of the best for the season. By early afternoon, only the Genny open yesterday. Raining this morning at DP.
Feeling a litle more than sad :(

Back from Perisher. Wind has eased and compared with yesterday is a gently breeze, though a bit blowy at the top of the triple. Slow flurries all morning and visibility was good except for a little flat light up high.
Put in some turns on Front Valley to warm up, then walked over to the bus stop at ski-tube to get to Mt Perisher. What a nightmare! What on earth were they thinking? Or perhaps NOT thinking? I know it's time to wind things down, but to have to queue for a bus, not be able to get on the first one which was probably carrying WAY more than the legal limit of passengers, and then have to wait for it to drop off that lot of people and pick return passengers before coming back for us. Not happy! Especially when we only had the morning to ski and opening Leichhardt on centre valley would allow easy access to and from the triple. There were more than a few customers who weren't impressed.
Put in some turns on Eyre, Towers and Sun Valley. Fortunately someone at Perisher had the good sense to open the Happy Valley T-bar for people to get back to front valley. Got some beautiful fresh tracks and sweet turns from Mid-Station back to Front Valley. :D
That's my season done. graemlins/skier.gif

Back in Thredbo, and BC is looking good for Tuesday and Wednesday
They opened mid station on Kozi chair today, so lots of fun was had.
Off piste was excellent according to those that made it out.
Sorry to hear the sad news Pops. Saw it on TV too. Very sad.

Oh forgot to say, driving back towards Thredbo from Canberra, the exodus of staff from the mountains was enough to make passing almost impossible from the slow drivers.
Bye all Winter staff, have fun, and if you are going overseas to work, have fun and be safe.
