c'mon tobi tell the truth....
I'll start. I'm gab and my home mountain is Falls Creek and I am sad :( . Sad that the snow is melting yet again and the season is pretty much closed (except for backcountry adventures hehe). must begin saving for JAPOW.
It's true I don't bite! tongue.gif
When are you guys heading to Japow again?
Actually I'll talk to you about this when I'm up in a couple of weeks. Do I need to wear a dress for this thing?

Hi, guys.
I was sent here by a fellow Aussie in Canada with tips for travel insurance. So now I have insurance, so thanks.
I've always been a skier since a kid in Selwyn to school trips at Perisher. A few months ago I did a 70 hour Japan trip and managed to squeeze 3 hours of spring skiing in. I am in Revelstoke in British Columbia, Canada and even before the season opens I can tell it will be an awesome spot. Hopefully I can met some of you guys in person on the 70 odd feet of powder in town.
Welcome Lucas. Looks like there will be a few crew at revelstoke this season.

Compared to the mountains of Switzerland, you're going to be disappointed with the bunny hills here in Australia.
Still, I'd rather ski bunny hills than not at all. Hope you have a good time here down under.

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the world of snow, here's an introduction:
Been with my fiance for 7yrs and the whole time we'd never gone to the snow which I felt bad for because she'd go every year before that.
Finally went to Thredbo last year (first time seeing snow) and loved it, even though i only boarded for 3hrs before managing to fall off the side of a traverse. Went back to Perisher the next time for my first full day of boarding and that was awesome.
Fast forward to now, looking to go down in the opening weekend at Thredbo and then back at the end of august for our wedding!
So i've gone from a summer loving beach boy to a winter rabbit, all in one year. Been meaning to sign up sooner but didn't, however this last week has been exciting for all the obvious (white) reasons and so i got my act together.
I'll usually post random comments and questions here and there, and don't take me too seriously.
Finally, i'm a massive Sea Eagles supporter, sorry...hahah!
Have a good one folks.

I reckon if your mate's in the Royal Melbourne with plates and screws holding him together, he should be thanking his lucky stars he's alive rather than being dark about not being able to board (although i know that' easy for me to say, given all my limbs are currently working!!!).

Hi All
Have been a lurker for a while and a dedicated follower of forecasts for the past few years. The Frog is the King! Currently trying to sell our horse property south of Brisbane to relocate to a property on the Kiewa River at Tawonga so I can do both passions; horses and skiing/boarding! This will keep the other family members happy so they can ski/board the whole season. Falls Creek is our home field and will be heading there for June/July Hols and any other hols we can manage! Have been to Japan and NZ and heading back to Japan in Feb 10!

Hey all
Just thought id introduce myself, been following this site for the past couple of seasons, The Frog seems to be the most accurate at forecasting snowfalls! Love snowboarding, cant wait for the season to start. I get up to Buller fairly regularly but would love to get to NSW at some stage this season and hopefully abroad when funds permit!
Cheers

Hi first time here on Snowatch. Have been looking in regularly at forecast - awesome site! I grew skiing every year even though I lived in Adelaide! We used to stay in Bright and drive up to buffalo, falls and hotham. Later on went to Threadbo and two seaons each at Perisher and Buller. That was all 20 years ago when some one else was paying!. 2 years ago re-started with trip to buller with wife and three kids - they all loved it! Last year went to Colorado and skied Breckenridge and Keystone - what a blast! Have week coming up at Buller in July this year. Aspiration is to go to NZ, Canada (Big White), Japan and more of the US - so much snow, so little time!!!!

Hello
what a nice way to introduce oneself.
I'm a snow skier, kids think I should try boarding, but would probably break my neck attempting to do so. The whole family and extended family likes to get online and check out the snow forecast here on Snowatch, so thankyou Frog for that. You've given us many years of great weekends up at the snow. I'm looking forward to asking many questions about this and that when it's needed. We ski mainly Hotham and Mount Buller and have also been to Mount Baw Baw if we just want to fit in a 1/2 days ski or snowboarding here and there.

Off to Falls Creek on the 11th for our annual week in the snow, and we can't wait. Love this site- it is fun AND informative.

Otherwise have to wait until September and see if The Frog is right and we get some good late season snow! Pumped as to test out my new Arbor board as much as possible this year.

I enjoy reading your forcasting and informative posts. Thanks
Hope to try boarding for the first time in Hotham at end of season (fingers crossed there will still be snow)Will be eagerly reading your forcasts Frog!

Hey everyone.
Been a lurker for while now. Thought it was time to join up.
I have been a skier since I could drive, so about now coming up 32 years. Snow skiing is my favorite sport, although it's probably due to the fact that I don't get to do it as much as the other sports/activities that I do. I have also Snow boarded but I prefer to ski(getting to old for the falls) + my snowboarder mates would give me heaps! I guess it's unusual that I don't snowboard as I surf A LOT! Probably would do it more if I lived in Japan as it would be more like surfing cause of the soft stuff.
I try to get down every year, mostly to Mt Hotham
I also do quite a lot of photography so check out my website!

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie from Newcastle. Thanks Pete, your site is really helping me cope with that itch at the moment. Am hoping to scratch it with a dash to Perisher or Thredbo in a fortnight or so. Have a week booked in Thredbo for September with my 5yo and a couple of other friends with kids but can't wait that long and who knows what the snow will be like then (Frog?). I'm a skier mostly. Got really hooked when travelling during the 90's and managed to work a few seasons.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, only found the site earlier this year, but have been snowboarding for about 5 years (with a 6-year break between the 2nd and 3rd years!) and I could ski pretty well before that.
I've only really been to NSW ski fields (I did one trip to NZ - it happened to be their worst year for snow, just my luck!) but I'm considering going to Japan or Canada in a few years.

Hi all
I'm a new member to snowatch but not new to visting the site. In winter its part of my daily morning desk driving routine, open outlook, open hotmail, read snowatch forecast! and the lovely people I worked with wld actually listen to me bang on about the forecast..as I sat in Canberra wishing I was in Jindy again!
I've found out from reading the posts that I'm a bad witch..which sounds more esoteric than knuckledragger I guess.
I don't know a lot of boarder's in CBR & I'm looking to do a trip to BC Canada next year...possibly timed with the Olympics..so wld love to hear from 30something peeps intereted.
Japan cld be an option.anyway, howdy & enjoy the season.

Welcome Snowboardergirl.
And don't let age be a barrier. I'm a long way over the hill and went to Japan with a group of early twenty something snowboarders, I'm a skier by the way, and we all had a great time. It's all about being on the snow and having fun.
