View Full Version : Farewell to Dad
My father passed away peacefully this morning just after 6am this morning in the comfort of his own home on the East Coast of Vic. I'm half pi55ed.. following true Irish tradition! I can only say that I am so very grateful to my mother, sister and brother for us all being together and seeing him through it.. we managed to fly him home so he could pass at home where he wanted to be the most. God love you Dad... we could not have asked for a more loving and devoted father and grandfather to our own children. We will love you forever.
my thoughts are with u and ur fam~ sending you lots of virtual sunshine and loads of happy vibes~

Have a great Irish wake JSJ
nothing else I could say would change how you are feeling right now but celebrating his life would be an honour any Irishman would be proud of.

JSJ, long live the irish spirit!
Nice to hear from you again, even if you are sozzled!
Good that you could spend that time with him, life is so short, remember the good times.
That's sad to hear, JSJ. Celebrate his life and all he's done for his extended family.

Celebrating your dads life is a beautiful thing, I hope you find comfort in the next few days, his pain and suffering is over.
Your father died in the place he wanted with the people he wanted around him, proud of the family he created. He will be reflected in your children and his presence will now never feel far from your heart.

COndolences JSJ.
Thanks to all for the kind words and loving thoughts.. I have to admit that this has been the hardest 3 weeks that I have lived through yet. I am glad my father is no longer in pain, however, I was not and still are not ready to let him go.. I would do anything to have him back :(

A life lived, is a life indeed. Hold the memories and live your life as your old man would have wanted. That will be his best legacy.

Sorry to here the news JSJ, sounds like your father was a wonderful man and so that would definately intensify the feelings of love and sadness that you have for him... I don't think in those circumstances there is ever a good way to say goodbye because it's hard to let go.... May the memory of his life always guide you to make good decisions and be the kind of person that would make him proud... Take care and God Bless for all it's worth.....
