I just found myself having walked out of the inner sanctum of the executive offices of an intl investment bank where I am currently temping, into the reception area where I stood mesmerized and stared at the plasma screen for close to 5mins...
What was so fascinating you ask?? A ski jumps bloopers reel on ski news.
This is not the first time in have been inappropriately distracted by the white stuff on tv.
On numerous occasions I have been know to stare vacantly over the heads of my friends in a bar. I have also been know to stop dancing on a dance floor and stare at a TV screen.
My friends have been known to forcibly turn me around and swap where are standing to stop me doing this..
Earlier in the year I thought it was because I was pinning for a ski... What's my excuse for today??
Anyone else have this problem?
Maybe we should start AA group :-p

I do the same thing, just a few weeks ago at Happy Jacks i was talking to my friend when I just stopped talking mid conversation and watched the TV for 10 or so minutes then I looked at my friend and said what were you saying, needless to say she was not happy.
Although when I got back from my trip I tried not to think too much about snow cos I knew I wasnt going for a long time,
BUT
My mate and I just booked 4 days 27th - 30th of Aug WOOO HOOOOO
Cant take a smile off my face at the moment

Ha ha Ozgirl that's funny! I was at the gym the other day being put through my paces with a personal instructor. The radio was on and I heard the word "Snow" so I stopped jumping around and tried to tune in to the snow report. My instructor thought there was something wrong with me! Good to hear that I'm not the only one that does things like that!

Shellfish that is very funny... although it wouldn't take much for me to stop mid workout :)
Pods am glad you agree with me, its not strange so need need for group therapy then?
My name is Vet, and I'm a skier.
My family know not to speak when the radio covers the $US and the weather. My screen saver is the weather channel's updates in Lake Tahoe.
But I'm making progress. Its been 2 straight weeks since my last look at mtbuller's snowcams.

they finally fixed the tv in the lunch room at work (after about 5 months of it being broken).
when i went down to lunch and turned on the tv up came a freestyle skiing comp, so happy.
I went to an appointment this morning.
Behind the person was their computer - their screen saver kept coming up with snow shots - it was hard to concentrate on them - what problem? :D

An update on my errr 'problem'..
Friday night I went to see a Kiwi band that my friends Dad manages.
It was at the Annandale Hotel. Earlier when we were at my friends for a pre drink somehow this thread came up and one of the girls (who I have only been out with twice said 'Yeah I have seen you do that..'
Opps.
Anyway we get to the pub and within 30 secs i was busted looking at..

Not a great pic but you get the drift.
http://i31.tinypic.com/2qd3bma.jpg
But funny thing - as i kept watching (oops) I realised that the music would be PERFECT for a ski video. I pointed this out to one of the girls from the management company and made her watch a bit (while listening) and she agreed...
So look out for Midnight Youth on a ski movie near you :)

Doctor, it all started when I got onto the white powder... There was that initial rush, the adrenalin started pumping through my veins.
I now have to seek out bigger and bigger hits, longer, more challenging....
It's the fault of that white powder I tell you!
Please help my SDS. graemlins/brr.gif

Okay slightly off topic but..
This is one of the songs that i quiet liked.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evoINijkBz8
And this was one of the ones that i thought woudl be good for a ski movie in particular. The lyrics are good.
About 2mins in is good but listen to the whole song.

So
It just happen again. Walked out into lobby and Skynews had the white stuff on it again. Thinking it was about the recent falls i stopped to watch/listen. Sadly I only got the tail end of it but it seemed to be a story on Ski Patroller, could not tell the resort (damn uniforms why do they all have to be the same!)
Wondered if anyone else saw it and knew what it was about/where it was filmed?
